Welcome to The Talk Of Louisville Podcast. This episode Mike and Kellye talk with Michelle Wash from Seth's Squad.
Seth’s Squad was born from an extraordinary journey of courage, resilience, and love. Seth, the youngest of three boys, is a determined and spirited child who never lets anything hold him back. That determination was tested when he was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia the day after Christmas in 2018. What followed was a relentless battle that saw Seth undergo multiple rounds of chemotherapy, 2 bone marrow transplants with his brother as one of the donors, Kymirah CAR-T therapy, and a clinical trial of Humanized CAR-T therapy. Seth receives primary treatment from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, treatment from Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY, and clinical trial care from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Despite setbacks, 4 relapses, and grueling treatments, Seth never gave up. His unwavering spirit inspired his family and community to come together and create Seth’s Squad—a mission to provide pediatric cancer patients and their families with the hope and resources they need to keep fighting. From hospital care bags to emotional support, Seth’s Squad honors Seth’s incredible journey by ensuring no child or family faces this battle alone. Seth’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, innovative medical care, and the unbreakable bond of family and community. Today, Seth is thriving in remission, and his legacy fuels our mission to make a difference for families fighting pediatric cancer.
